Aspiration

I've loved sketching since I was a kid, so I started painting.
I still value drawing flowers in nature,
but sometimes the motif conveys something like emotion.
A soft pink peony that overcomes the harsh winter snowfall
and spreads large flowers in the spring.
A white mountain lily that blooms refreshingly in the summer sunshine.

In autumn, grapes that shine like blue and purple jewels,
and colourful autumn leaves that make you feel calm.
A camellia that stands dignified and crimson in the tense atmosphere of winter.

Whilst sketching, when standing in nature with such motifs,
I notice the pulsation of life from their trivial breathing
and the existence of many lives from the surrounding environment.
We realize that the beauty of flowers comes from many life-and-death cycles in
these harsh natural environments.

From such an experience,
I use the word "congratulations" to describe how the motifs are pleased with their lives,
and I also use them in the exhibition titles. In production,
I value it as one of the keywords that expresses the view of life and death
that was born from my own experience.
