Through antique art research trips and replication projects,
I learned again that classical paintings, which are now old-fashioned,
were also represented in vivid colours at that time,
and I had the opportunity to think about oriental paintings over time.
And for me, who has never used a lot of primary colours,
it was an opportunity to focus on the ancient colours of
the materials of oriental paintings and take on the challenge.

The experiment of wondering if the colours of originally beautiful natural paints
could be used in the production of contemporary Japanese paintings was
linked to the production of introverting myself and exploring my roots.

In this way, it led to creative activities such as this fan painting,
which attempts to reproduce the elements of the Halle of the Awa Dance Festival
in Tokushima, where I was born.
Taking the opportunity of trying to express with the strong colouring of this paint,
we are also trying to convey the appeal of the materials of oriental paintings
